A Penny For Your Floor?

Tiled in pennies – now there is a unique floor idea. I’m told this floor comes from the Standard Grill in the Standard Hotel in New York – not having been there I can’t confirm or deny.

Regardless of where the floor is, it certainly is novel.

At www.greayer.com they contemplated this as a way to pave an outdoor path – I would have thought it would get a tad slippery but they though that the copper turning green would look amazing. But then as they point out pennies made since 1983 are now zinc and not copper – and as zinc does not change color, there goes the green path idea.

Still it’s a novel flooring idea – though I reckon it would take a long time to lay.
