Using Floral Themes In Your Home

When you think of flowers, it’s so quick to give you that refreshing feeling that can make you smile no matter how tired you are from the day’s activity. Personally, I use images of different flowers as a screen saver on my work desktop, and each time I feel extremely stressed I simply look at them and somehow I feel relieved and get back to work rejuvenated.

Same goes when you are in your home. There are times you’d feel dull and bored. And somehow you wonder if it has anything to do with your existing wall paints and decorating, or perhaps, your living room just has a need for a major makeover. Why not try to incorporate some flowers in your home design?

Flowers have a very charming way to make something livelier, but sometimes people get overwhelmed about introducing floral theme at home. Either because they feel it’s too feminine or it might also be because of the lack of creative ways on how to successfully do it.

Floral themes can start by using floral rugs in your rooms. You can choose some floral-shaped rugs that you can place in your child’s bedroom, or you can go for some modern area rugs with flower prints to give your living room that summery look.

Another way to create that floral theme is through the fabrics and furniture you use at home. There are pillow cases and bedding that are made of floral designs. Your living room curtains can also get that floral design in colors that will match or coordinate with your other home decors.

Meanwhile, if you don’t want to see all flowers around, you can still create that floral ambiance by choosing wall paints or upholstery that exhibits the floral mood. Try some light-toned shades of orange, lavender, yellow, or green. They are easy and friendly colors that lightens not only homeowners’ moods, but the entire house as well.

Seagrass Rugs For Your Living Room?

Don’t you just hate it when your kids seem to never run out of stamina and keep running and playing around the house to the point of almost bruising and beating your carpeted flooring?

Of course, kids are naturally hyperactive and playing is their favorite hobby when they’re just young. But also, you wouldn’t want to keep on changing your carpet just because they don’t last or just because one part of it is just about ready to wear out.

Why not get some Seagrass rugs for your living room, then? Apart from the fact that they can add a sophisticated look to your living room spaces, they are also durable enough to endure frequent vacuuming and sweeping. They are sturdy enough to deal with heavy foot traffic, making them last longer.

What’s more: Seagrass rugs are very affordable, too. They also come with different designs and great colors, sizes, and shapes. Exactly the kind that will match your home decor rightfully!

Braided Area Rugs: A practical home décor choice

When I was a kid, I’d always wondered why mom kept buying rugs for our home. I didn’t understand why we needed one in the front door, another one in the living room, in the bathroom, in our bedrooms, and in the kitchen. And for all I know, there are more reserved stocks left just in case one gets worn out.

Fast forward today, my hubby and I moved to our new apartment and surprisingly I was quick to include in my grocery list braided area rugs to be placed in the living room and in our bedroom. Our apartment has white tiles flooring, and our walls are painted with white, too. Being the upbeat person that I am, I wanted to put more colors in our home. And since we are unable to change wall paintings, I deemed that braided area rugs are one of the best decors to pick up because it comes with a lot of different colors, and of different sizes. Just with the simple task of picking up something with four color variations is more than enough to make our home livelier. And when it comes to cleaning them, I am in love with the fact that I didn’t have to bring them to the nearest laundry shop for some hard cleaning, rather, I can do them at home by myself with some water to take off some stains. Very easy and convenient. Not to mention a beautiful creation for any home décor.

Dull? The New Bright!

Cut some rug
Image by hey mr glen via Flickr

Gray is often viewed as a drab color.  By itself, it seems dusty, dirty, and drab.  But what most people don’t realize is that it’s a great color that can be used to control other colors, especially the bright ones.  Gray area rugs are a great way to decorate your floor and incorporate in bright colors without actually making your floor pop out and give people vertigo.  Like black, you can pair up almost any other color with it, although do be careful to not pair up any muddy colors with gray or else your room really will look dirty.  It’s best to pair up bright, popping colors with your grays.

If you’re having a hard time trying to match your gray rug with the right amount of another color, think of it as a cloud with silver lining, only instead of the gray being the silver lining, it’s the cloud, and you’re looking for colorful lining to go with it.
