Should You Use A Kitchen Area Rug
Many don’t think of placing an area rug in the kitchen with their design. They don’t think that area rugs belong in the kitchen where they may end up dirty and have food spills. So why are they becoming more popular as the time goes on? Maybe because many have realized that it brings more of a homey feeling to the kitchen along with a move comfortable feel under the toes.
Since the kitchen is where the cooking goes on you may end up with a few spills. If they get onto the kitchen area rug you may feel that there isn’t a way to clean them. That is incorrect. If you choose the proper material you’ll be eager to know you’ll be able to clean them in the washer.
Acrylic is the number one area rugs that are used in kitchens along with bathrooms because they are durable and easy to wash. Nylon or Polypropylene rugs are also very durable for the kitchen area, especially for stains since they are resistant to such.
If your kitchen doesn’t have a theme you’ll be able to choose a great patterned rug with the color scheme which best suites your space. If you have a theme already in your kitchen décor then you can find a great solid colored rug which will fit in with the rest of the design. No matter what type of rug you choose make sure it goes with the color scheme which is already in the room’s style. Patterns are a great way to go with kitchen design since there are many colors swirled together the stains won’t be so noticeable.
After you realize what type of rug you want to choose for your space, size comes into effect. You want to make sure the area rug isn’t too big for the space. Choosing a few smaller rugs and placing one in front of the stove and one in front of the sink would be efficient as well. It will give you more padding under your feet since those are the two spaces you’ll stand more frequently in the kitchen.
