Some houses have been blessed with an extra floor: the basement. However, some basements are very small and contain the boiler, electric meter, and a few other items. This kind of basement can’t be used for any other purposes other than utilitarian. But in other houses, the basement is a floor itself that can even be split into several parts. In many homes the basement is rented as a separate apartment with separate entrance.

If you decide to use the basement for living or make a place for children to play, you can do:

1. Extra ventilation by installing windows and/or fans for ventilation.

2. Increase the brightness in your basement by placing in bright lights. You can also brighten your basement by painting your walls in color that will reflect light such as white or light yellow.

3. When it comes to your basement flooring, use linoleum surface for convenience. Add some area rugs too for comfort and extra warmth.
